Gum grafting

Do you have exposed tooth roots due to gum recession? If so gum grafting could be a solution for you. This surgery will repair the defect and help avoid further gum recession and bone loss. Gum graft can be used to develop gum tissue if it has been absent (largely due to excessive gingival recession) and to cover roots. Usually, the periodontist takes gum tissue from your palate or another source to cover the exposed root.

What are the benefits of gum grafting?

The benefits of Gum grafting are that it can reduce further gum recession, bone loss and in some cases protect exposed root from further decay. Aesthetically, this will improve the look of your smile.

Who performs the procedure?

At Belvedere Dental Clinic, our dentist will help identify if gum grafting is required and, if so, we will refer you to a periodontist. A periodontist is a specialist in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases.
